Avoiding the Spread of Viruses at Work
No one should go to work with influenza.
According to Jim Lando, acting chief of the Office of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Allegheny County Health Department, the flu is hitting hard this year with 340 confirmed cases in the country already.
Dr Lando said that, whether people are suffering from the flu, norovirus or even a bad cold, “we tell people [that] if they’re sick, stay home.”
Of course, he is the first to admit that it’s not always easy for people to take sick days from work. Often, even if a company offers sick days, people use them when their children are sick or when they need to care for an elderly parent.

Creating an Office Worker Health Strategy
The health of your workers is crucial to the success of your business, and you should be looking out for both their physical and mental health, because unless your workers are healthy and happy your business will be constantly fighting an uphill battle. Having a health strategy for your workers will make a huge difference, and the following looks at how to create one for your office workers.
Upgrade Furniture
The first thing that you need to do is make sure that all of your office furniture is ergonomically designed and set up, because otherwise your workers won’t be able to stay healthy at their desks for very long. The desks, chairs, mice, monitors and keyboards all need to be set up in such a way that they can provide the maximum amount of support for your workers, so learn a little more about ergonomic design, and whether you need to introduce stand-up desks or better lighting, do it.
